Harvest was the default. Then Bending Spoons bought it and bills went up 12x. Here's how Latinum compares — features, pricing, and what it's like to actually switch.
In June 2025, Italian software company Bending Spoons acquired Harvest. By mid-2026, they rolled out a new "usage-based" pricing model. Customers who were paying $59/month found their renewals at $704/month — a 12x increase. Some saw even worse: bills going from $240/mo to $2,000+/mo.
The BBC covered the story in August 2026. Bloomberg called Bending Spoons' price hikes "outrageous." A 13-year customer published leaveharvest.com documenting their $59 → $704 renewal. Reddit's r/HarvestApp has posts titled "Should we sue Harvest?"
If you're one of those customers, you're in the right place.

The key difference: Harvest's new pricing charges you more as you grow — more projects, more clients, more invoices means a bigger bill. Latinum will never do that. You know what you pay. It stays that way.
Harvest's new model adds a $599/month "usage" fee on top of seat costs. The more you invoice, the more you pay. Latinum doesn't gate your growth — you pay for your seats, and that's it.
If you're an MSP or IT service team using Zendesk, Latinum's sidebar app lets your technicians start timers directly from ticket views. The ticket ID, subject, and organization auto-populate into the time entry. Harvest doesn't have this.
Latinum integrates with Helcim, a Canadian payment processor. Your money stays in Canada, and you get lower fees on Canadian card transactions. Harvest only offers Stripe — and sends your money through US infrastructure.
Latinum was built in Canada by a Canadian business owner. Tax rates are first-class — you can stack GST + PST on a single invoice, and tax summaries appear on every invoice and in tax reports for filing. Harvest's tax handling was designed for the US market.
Latinum wasn't built by a VC-backed team chasing a valuation. It was built by Jordan Eunson, an MSP owner in Vancouver who needed time tracking, invoicing, and payment collection for his own business. When you email support, you're talking to the person who built it.
Switching takes about 10 minutes:

Being honest: Harvest has been around since 2006 and has some things we don't (yet):
For most service businesses that use time tracking + invoicing + payments, Latinum covers what you need. If you're deeply integrated into the Harvest ecosystem, the switch takes a bit more planning — but the pricing math makes it worth it.
Yes. Export your time from Harvest as a CSV and import it into Latinum. Your clients, projects, tasks, team members, and full time history all come across. The migration takes about 10 minutes.
Yes, Latinum has an Android app with time tracking, project management, and expense logging. It works offline and syncs when you reconnect. An iOS app is on the roadmap.
Pricing is being finalized. Alpha testers get early access and will be the first to know when pricing launches. No usage fees, no per-project gating, no surprise price hikes.
Yes. Latinum is a Canadian company owned by Copious Communications Inc. Your data is stored on servers in Canada. Payment processing runs through Helcim (Canadian) or Stripe.
Yes. Latinum installs as a Zendesk sidebar app. When viewing a ticket, your team can start a timer that automatically captures the ticket ID, subject, and organization. This is a feature Harvest doesn't offer.
Email hello@mylatinum.com. Latinum is actively being built, and feature requests from real users get priority. You're talking to the founder, not a support tier.
